Following the two group exhibitions “Noires et Rouges” that took place in 2019 at the Cervantes Institute in Paris and at Syndicat Potentiel in Strasbourg, we propose two new exhibitions entitled “Black & Red”: one at AQB - Mines in Budapest (Hungary) and the other at Syndicat Potentiel in Strasbourg (France); each one is adapted to the place and produced with the support of ADAGP.
We would like to update the scope of the reflections that took shape during the period of the Spanish Civil War that heralded the World War ii; inventive mixtures of life and art, realized utopias and ideologies in combat.
At the gates of the European Union, which has already been eroded by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Russian invasion of Ukraine brings to mind images of the destruction of European cities during the Second World War and the columns of thousands of refugees fleeing the murderous bombardments.
It is in the context of this European drama that we are launching a new cycle of exhibitions on the question of democracy and anti-fascism today, of the ideological, social and artistic values at stake, in view of the tensions in Europe between 2000 and 2030.
As at the time of the Retirada (Spanish Civil War refugees exodus), the fight against fascism, the issue of immigration and the welcoming of refugees in Europe are at the heart of current events. The artists in the exhibition “Black & Red” offer a view on the present situation.

À la suite des deux expositions collectives “Noires et Rouges” qui se sont déroulées en 2019 à l’institut Cervantes Paris et au Syndicat Potentiel Strasbourg, nous proposons deux nouvelles expositions intitulées « Black & Red » : l’une à l’AQB – Mines à Budapest (Hongrie) et l’autre au Syndicat Potentiel à Strasbourg (France), chacune adaptée au lieu et produite avec le soutien de l’ADAGP.
Brassages inventifs entre la vie et les arts, utopies réalisées et idéologies au combat : nous souhaitons actualiser la portée des réflexions qui ont pris corps pendant la période de la guerre civile espagnole annonciatrice de la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
Aux portes de l’Union Européenne déjà éreintée par la pandémie Covid-19, l’invasion russe en Ukraine nous renvoie aux images de destruction des villes européennes durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale et aux colonnes de milliers de réfugiés fuyant les bombardements meurtriers.
C’est dans le contexte de ce drame européen que nous engageons un nouveau cycle d’expositions sur la question de la démocratie et de l’antifascisme aujourd’hui, des valeurs idéologiques, sociales et artistiques en jeu, en regard des tensions dans l’Europe des années 2000–2030.
Comme au temps de la Retirada (l’exil des réfugiés de la guerre civile espagnole), la lutte contre le fascisme, la problématique de l’immigration et l’accueil des réfugiés en Europe sont au cœur de l’actualité. Les artistes de l’exposition « Black & Red » en proposent une traduction au présent.

A 2019-ben a párizsi Cervantes Intézetben és a strasbourgi Syndicat Potentielben megrendezett két “Noires et Rouges” csoportos kiállítás után most két újabb kiállítással jelentkezünk “Black & Red” (Fekete és vörös) címmel: az egyiket a budapesti AQB mines pincerendszerében (Magyarország), a másikat a strasbourgi Syndicat Potentielben (Franciaország); mindegyik kiállítás a helyszínhez igazodik, és az ADAGP támogatásával készül.
Frissíteni szeretnénk azon reflexiók kiterjedését, melyek a Spanyol Polgárháború idején bontakoztak ki, és amelyek előre vetítették a II. világháborút; az élet és művészet leleményes egyvelege, megvalósított utópiák és ideológiák küzdelmében.
Az Európai Unió kapuiban, melyet már a Covid-19 járvány is megrengetett, Ukrajna orosz megszállása eszünkbe juttatja az európai városok megsemmisítésének, illetve a gyilkos bombázások elől menekülő ezrek oszlopainak képét a II. világháború alatt.
Ennek az európai drámának a keretein belül indítjuk el a kiállítások új ciklusát, melyek a mai demokrácia és antifasizmus kérdésével foglalkoznak, az ideológiai, közösségi és művészi értékekkel, melyek veszélyben forognak, tekintetbe véve a 2000 és 2030 közötti európai feszültségeket.
Akárcsak a Retirada idején (a spanyol polgárháború menekültjeinek kivándorlása), a fasizmus elleni küzdelem, a bevándorlás és a menekültek fogadásának problémája Európában a jelenlegi események legégetőbb kérdése. A “Black & Red” (Fekete és vörös) kiállítások művészei rálátást nyújtanak a jelenlegi helyzetre.
A nemzetközi projekt a magyarországi állomása arra kérdésekre keresi a választ, hogy mit jelent a jelenünkben a nemzeteken átívelő civil összefogás, szolidaritás vagy az önkéntes elkötelezettség. Valamint, hogy a történelem problémáira (szélsőséges szemléletek megerősödése, szociális és gazdasági válságok, stb) milyen a társadalom számára releváns válasszal szolgál a képzőművészet, ha egyáltalán feladatának tartja az erre való reakciót.
